Senior Application Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with mobile, frontend, and backend engineering teams on threat modeling and security assessments.

• Design secure libraries and frameworks that prioritize security for Yelp applications and services.

• Develop and implement login and account security solutions for Yelp’s website and mobile applications.

• Assist with security incident response and operational team activities.

• Evaluate bug bounty submissions and vulnerability reports generated by internal security tools.

• Create automated solutions to identify and mitigate application security threats.

• Promote security best practices and policies throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in software engineering focused on application security.

• Strong knowledge of web application security, mobile security, APIs, and cloud security.

• Familiar with common vulnerabilities, including those listed in the OWASP Top 10.

• Proficient in a modern programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript/React, Swift, and/or Objective-C.

• Comfortable with reading and navigating through unfamiliar codebases.

• Experience in security research and penetration testing is a plus.

• Must reside in the Republic of Ireland.
