This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist customers in the planning and development of technical solutions tailored to their monitoring requirements.
• Analyze transformer and circuit breaker specifications, single-line diagrams, best practices from customers, and system integration necessities, transforming them into product specifications.
• Collaborate with sales teams during customer calls, presentations, bid meetings, and site visits.
• Create technical proposals that adhere to customer specifications in partnership with engineering, product managers, and proposal managers.
• Tailor and deliver technical papers and presentations at conferences, to customers, and internally to support sales or service efforts.
• Supply competitive insights and customer feedback to the product technology and service teams.
• Offer product and application training to customers, sales, TAE, Customer Service, and Field Services teams.
• Guide customers in the architecture, commissioning, and testing of new products, solutions, and pilot projects.
• Support configuration and troubleshooting of M&D product integration with customer systems across DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 61850.
• Evaluate monitoring equipment outcomes and suggest actions or adjustments to settings.
• Expand knowledge of complementary Protection and Control, Industrial Communications, Services, and Software product lines.
• Monitor issues arising from demonstrations, evaluations, testing, and pilot projects until resolved with the Technology team.
• Recognize training opportunities and take responsibility for personal development and the training of others.
• Examine large fleets of customer monitoring equipment to identify upgrade possibilities for outdated products.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or technology from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in industrial and utility monitoring and diagnostics of transformers, circuit breakers, related software applications, and communication of monitoring devices to customer systems, including hands-on troubleshooting.
• Capability to maintain a professional demeanor and engage with customers at all levels, from electricians to C-suite executives.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Proven extensive experience with substations and substation equipment.
• Familiarity with GE Vernova and other brands of Monitoring and Diagnostics products.
• Understanding of transformer and circuit breaker failure modes, DGA gas diagnostics, bushing diagnostics, and partial discharge.
• Substantial experience with SCADA protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and IEC 61850; knowledge of MQTT is advantageous.
• Awareness of communication topologies.
• Ability to develop solutions that meet customer data integration and cybersecurity requirements.
• Strong creative and problem-solving abilities.
