This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Provide expertise in materials and technical leadership for various material systems and aviation components.
• Develop and implement metallic materials and processes across aviation components within the supply chain.
• Address complex technical challenges for both new products and legacy teams.
• Conduct analysis, design, testing, and integration for designated components, assemblies, or systems.
• Choose materials for new designs and resolve manufacturing issues in both new production and repairs.
• Introduce new materials and processes while reviewing supplier operations.
• Plan and execute material testing programs.
• Propel enhancements in forge and heat-treatment special processes for rotor alloys within the rotating-parts supply chain.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist the supply chain through audits, reviews, and pre-production meetings.
• Engage in business and industry teams to enhance special-process applications for critical rotating parts.
• Define technical specifications and set process limits.
• Document technical information in accordance with engineering policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with key suppliers to enhance performance metrics.
• Travel as necessary.
• Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy, or a high school diploma/GED with 9 years of engineering and/or science experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in disciplinary engineering and/or science.
• Ability to verify U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or granted asylee/refugee status.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience with manufacturing, quality systems, and field support in the aerospace or gas turbine industry.
• Familiarity with primary processing (forge and heat treatment) of rotating part forgings.
• Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy, manufacturing processes, and aerospace forging/heat-treatment inspections.
• Profound knowledge of the supply chain.
• Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Proficient in performing technical work and collaborating effectively within a team environment.
