Senior Application Architect – Hadoop Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure that designs specific to projects are in alignment with the application architecture roadmap.

• Assist project and/or product teams with both functional and technical design activities.

• Establish interactions between application packages, databases, and middleware systems to enhance product functional coverage.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for products that need integration into the application.

• Manage and provide support for Hadoop-related application architecture and ecosystem components.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree coupled with 5 years of experience in Information Technology OR a Technical Certification and/or College Courses along with 7 years of Information Technology experience OR a total of 9 years in Information Technology.

• Proficiency in application and/or product feature design.

• Experience in application configuration.

• Familiarity with application development platforms and/or languages such as HTML/CSS, Java, ASP.Net, PHCSC, Ruby, and C#.

• Knowledge of cloud computing, especially SaaS/PaaS.

• Experience with DevOps and/or continuous deployment/integration processes and tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, RallyDev, and Jira.

• Expertise in integration technologies such as Tibco, Informatica, and CAS.

• Background in iterative, agile, and/or scrum development methodologies.

• Experience in solution architecture.

• Knowledge of the application domain.

• Prototyping experience.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Linux/Unix, including command-line operations, file systems, process management, and Bash/Perl shell scripting.

• Preferred: Understanding of Hadoop architecture, including HDFS, YARN, and MapReduce.

• Preferred: Familiarity with cluster management and monitoring tools such as Apache Ambari, Nagios, Ganglia, or Cloudera Manager.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem tools including Hive, HBase, Spark, and Sqoop.

• Preferred: Experience with cluster coordination/job-flow tools like ZooKeeper or Oozie.

• Preferred: Understanding of networking and hardware fundamentals for distributed node environments.

• Preferred: Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible; knowledge of Kerberos security/authentication.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Java, Python, or Scala.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Apache Spark.
