Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the mobile application, encompassing architecture, performance, release processes, and roadmap.

• Guide and mentor the current team of two mobile engineers.

• Establish technical direction and elevate the standards for mobile engineering quality.

• Collaborate on engineering strategies and product directions focused on growth, onboarding, and user retention.

• Ensure smooth animations, responsive interactions, and adherence to platform-specific conventions.

• Deliver features, track their performance, assess impact, and iterate swiftly in a PLG/A/B testing environment.

• Manage app store presence and release schedules, including versioning, store optimization, crash monitoring, and performance oversight.

• Potentially assist in expanding a dedicated mobile team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in native Android development.

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.

• Demonstrated experience in building and delivering consumer-grade Android applications.

• Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and Android Views.

• Knowledge of Android frameworks and tools, including Firebase, push notifications, and Play Store deployment.

• Experience with Android Studio, testing frameworks, and Google Play Console.

• Understanding of common Android architecture and state management patterns.

• Experience in debugging, performance optimization, and crash monitoring.

• Proven track record in leading and mentoring engineering teams.

• Bonus: Experience with Java.

• Bonus: Experience in iOS development (Swift).

• Remote position available in Europe, with a preference for candidates in Western or continental Europe.
