Senior Mobile Software Engineer – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design next-generation functionalities for the innovative Olo app and realize the post-MVP vision.

• Collect feedback from the expanding user community and address reported issues.

• Assist in crafting the app feature roadmap.

• Contribute to the evolution of the iOS and Android codebases.

• Exhibit expertise in the team's domain and technology stack.

• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical decision-making processes.

• Tackle technical debt through prioritization, refactoring, and enhancements to the system.

• Take ownership of intricate features and projects from idea to delivery.

• Lead code reviews and enhance code quality.

• Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to clarify requirements.

• Provide reliable, maintainable software with optimizations for performance and resilience.

• Oversee and maintain production services, resolving critical issues as they arise.

• Engage in the architecture and design of distributed systems.

• Enhance development processes, tools, and automation.

• Ensure consistency and quality in shared components and APIs.

• Contribute to the knowledge repository and lead educational sessions.

• Utilize Claude Code in daily workflows.

• Manage the delivery pipeline, encompassing code quality, testing, and deployment practices.

• Participate in necessary on-call responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a specific focus on native mobile development.

• Advanced expertise in native Android mobile development using Kotlin.

• Experience in independently designing and implementing complex algorithms and architectures.

• Proficiency in managing and enhancing CI/CD processes, with hands-on experience utilizing tools such as GitHub Actions.

• Familiarity with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies.

• Strong focus on automation in testing and deployment.

• Leadership capabilities, including mentoring peers, steering technical discussions, and collaborating across teams and departments.
