Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Collaboratively define, design, and implement new features alongside iOS, Web, and backend engineers, UI/UX designers, and product managers.

• Ensure the robustness of software through thorough unit and integration testing.

• Address edge cases, usability concerns, and overall reliability.

• Initiate and propel personal project initiatives from concept to app integration.

• Lead projects from their inception to successful delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

• Stay updated with the latest Android SDK, tools, and conventions.

• Report directly to the Engineering Manager of the team.

• Work collaboratively with the Android Chapter Lead on chapter-related issues and tech OKRs.

• Partner with Backend, iOS, and Web teams to guarantee a seamless, high-quality experience across all platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 8 years of engineering experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience delivering real-world production Android applications.

• A passion for mobile platforms and a solid understanding of the entire mobile development lifecycle.

• Excellent command of Kotlin and Java.

• Familiarity with one or more architectural patterns such as MVP, MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture.

• Strong understanding of design principles, patterns, and best practices in application development.

• Experience leading medium to large-scale projects.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong capacity for learning.

• Comprehensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the Android platform.

• Proficiency in Jetpack Compose, Room, Kotlin Coroutines, and ReactiveX.

• Outstanding analytical skills with a strong sense of ownership.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Familiarity with integration, functional, and UI automation testing.

• Experience with analytic tools and a data-driven culture.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, such as GitHub Actions or Bitrise.

• Experience using observability tools.

• Background in performance monitoring and testing.
