Senior Full Stack Engineer – Android, Go/Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain applications for Android/Fire TV along with their supporting backend services.

• Create Android features utilizing Kotlin/Java, emphasizing performance, reliability, and user experience.

• Develop robust backend services using Go or Java.

• Construct and integrate APIs for managing subscriptions, payments, and entitlement workflows.

• Implement Fire TV In-App Purchase processes, including purchases, renewals, cancellations, and entitlement synchronization.

• Integrate applications with app-store APIs, payment systems, and internal backend services.

• Establish resilient workflows capable of managing failures, retries, and transaction reconciliation.

• Design systems to accommodate high concurrency and significant traffic surges during live sports events and major content launches.

• Optimize application start-up times, API latency, network usage, and overall performance.

• Collaborate on authentication, device management, and user-session flows as needed.

• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability across mobile/TV applications and backend systems.

• Write maintainable and thoroughly tested production code.

• Engage in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design assessments.

• Work collaboratively with Android, backend, platform, payments, and product teams to deliver features from end to end.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant Android development experience with Kotlin and/or Java.

• Solid understanding of Android application architecture, lifecycle, and performance enhancement techniques.

• Experience in developing applications for Android TV or Fire TV is highly preferred.

• Strong backend development expertise in Go or Java.

• Familiarity with Spring Boot for Java backend development or popular Go web/service frameworks.

• Proficient in designing and utilizing REST APIs.

• Good knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.

• Experience with SQL databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL.

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus.

• Familiarity with caching solutions such as Redis.

• Exposure to Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming technologies.

• Understanding of asynchronous processing, concurrency, and distributed transactions.

• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong debugging and production troubleshooting abilities.

• 4 to 7 years of experience in software engineering.

• Extensive hands-on Android development experience.

• Practical experience in backend development using Go or Java.

• Ability to independently own and deliver features across both application and backend layers.

• Experience working with scalable production applications.
