Senior Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish requirements and uncover opportunities for enhancing data delivery and automating business processes.

• Examine source data and the interrelationships among data assets to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.

• Design, create, test, and uphold data architectures, ELT processes, logical and physical data models, data marts, metadata repositories, and data warehouse solutions.

• Enhance data retrieval and dataset processing; develop scalable algorithms; and improve data reliability, efficiency, quality, and performance.

• Sustain the business glossary, metadata, documentation, and resources that promote a shared understanding of analytical data assets.

• Offer technical leadership for analytics initiatives and projects, ensuring effective information management, reuse, scalability, and governance.

• Create and evaluate proofs of concept to confirm feasibility and showcase business value.

• Work collaboratively with and train data scientists, systems analysts, report developers, and other technical partners.

• Reverse engineer current codebases to facilitate migration to modern technologies.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, engineering, or a related IT field; or a combination of education and relevant work experience.

• High school diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent GED.

• 5 years of experience in IT, including 3 years in data analytics engineering, with a background in business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytics.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring a work visa or residency sponsorship.

• Capability to architect, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions.

• Strong grasp of relational and dimensional data modeling, data transformation, code operationalization, and data exploration.

• Proficient in SQL, stored procedures, ELT development, and cloud database platforms.

• Experience in delivering complex analytics engineering solutions from start to finish.

• Experience in mentoring junior analytics engineers.

• Proven track record in establishing and applying data engineering standards, testing practices, code review expectations, and performance optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with the pharmacy benefit management and the larger healthcare ecosystem.

• Knowledge of and experience with benefit planning and modeling.

• Ability to leverage AI to enhance engineering deliverables.

• Experience in reverse engineering existing codebases for migration to modern technologies.

• Preferred: dbt certification or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Preferred: Experience with GitHub and Jira.

• Preferred: Programming experience with Python and associated frameworks.

• Preferred: Experience with Google Cloud, BigQuery, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), business intelligence tools, and cloud technologies.
