Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and manage high-throughput ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and storage.

• Create intricate, performance-optimized data transformations utilizing Python, high-performance SQL, and dbt.

• Contribute to the technical strategy and planning for scalability.

• Implement best practices in data operations, including CI/CD, version-controlled schemas, and automated testing.

• Enhance data reliability, observability, quality, and lineage tracking.

• Utilize Spark, Flink, or Kafka for scalable batch and real-time operational analytics.

• Collaborate with the ML Platform team to prepare clean, feature-rich datasets for model training and inference.

• Assist in data documentation, discoverability, privacy, and access controls.

• Collaborate with Finance & Accounting to develop systems that support enterprise analytics, financial reporting, and external audits.

• Report to Lime’s Corporate Tech Analytics Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Over 2 years of experience in data engineering and distributed systems.

• Practical experience in building and scaling data stacks on cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS.

• Familiarity with Snowflake.

• Proficiency in Python and high-performance SQL.

• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.

• Knowledge of Spark, Flink, or Kafka.

• Understanding of data modeling and ETL pipelines.

• Experience with dbt.

• Familiarity with data governance tools and practices, including cataloging, lineage, and PII masking.

• Experience with Iceberg, Debezium, or Terraform.

• Understanding of ERP fundamentals; NetSuite is preferred.

• Knowledge of general ledger and sub-ledger concepts and reconciliations.

• Understanding of revenue, COGS, asset balances, depreciation, accruals, and month-end close KPIs.

• Familiarity with Fixed Assets / FAM concepts, including depreciation logic, resets, adjustments, roll-forwards, and auditability.

• Close and audit support, including control totals, roll-forwards, sub-ledger-to-GL tie-outs, variance explanations, and transparent lineage.

• Familiarity with planning models such as Anaplan.

• Experience working within strict internal controls, SOX, audit readiness, IPO readiness, or other regulated environments.

• Ability to collaborate directly with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance Operations.

• Must reside and work remotely from Portugal.

• Proficiency in the English language is required.
