This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Develop the long-term technical vision for Lime’s Corporate Data Warehouse.
• Construct a reliable and scalable Finance-grade semantic layer for Finance, Accounting, and Corp Tech analytics.
• Take ownership of the Finance data modeling strategy across NetSuite, sub-ledgers, and core systems.
• Establish and uphold standards for dbt modeling, SQL style, CI/CD, documentation, and automated testing.
• Create reconciliation-ready datasets that support month-end closes and audits.
• Implement control totals, roll-forwards, sub-ledger-to-GL tie-outs, variance explanations, and ensure transparent lineage.
• Uphold data governance and controls regarding ownership, glossary, lineage, change management, access patterns, and automated data quality validation.
• Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance Ops stakeholders on close workflows, audit evidence, and analytics solutions.
• Assess and integrate orchestration and automation capabilities across ingestion, transformation, and reporting pipelines.
• Establish alerting, observability, and SLA monitoring to minimize manual intervention and operational risk.
• Mentor Analytics Engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and collaborative work.
• Report to Lime’s Corp Tech Analytics Manager in Enterprise Engineering.
• Work in partnership with Finance & Accounting leadership to provide audit-ready business performance and financial reporting data.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Over 5 years of experience in analytics engineering or data warehousing.
• Proven history of designing architectures that can scale in rapidly growing environments.
• Strong backend instincts, including expertise in data contracts, idempotency, late-arriving data, reprocessing, control totals, and lineage.
• Capability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders at the Director/VP level.
• More than 5 years of experience building and scaling data stacks on cloud providers, preferably AWS.
• Extensive production experience with Snowflake, covering warehouse sizing, clustering, incremental strategies, query profiling, and cost/performance trade-offs.
• Expert-level proficiency in high-performance SQL.
• Strong Python skills for transformation, tooling, and automation.
• In-depth dbt knowledge, including macros, packages, performance patterns, and project structuring.
• Experience in dimensional modeling, ELT pipeline design, and semantic layer design for Finance-grade reporting.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, including DAG design, dependency management, backfills, retries, and SLAs.
• Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines, version-controlled schemas, automated testing, code review standards, and release management.
• Expertise in freshness and volume monitoring, anomaly detection, lineage tracking, alerting, runbooks, and ownership.
• Knowledge of data governance tools and practices, including cataloging, lineage, PII masking, and role-based access control.
• Working familiarity with Spark, Flink, or Kafka, as well as CDC/ingestion patterns.
• Experience with Iceberg, Debezium, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
• Understanding of ERP fundamentals, including NetSuite, transactions, GL impact, accounting periods, close calendars, and dimensionality.
• Comfort with navigating GL and sub-ledger complexity and modeling sub-ledger-to-GL reconciliations.
• Knowledge of revenue, COGS, asset balances, depreciation, accruals, and month-end close KPIs.
• Familiarity with fixed assets/FAM, depreciation logic, asset resets and adjustments, roll-forwards, and auditability.
• Experience creating reconciliation-ready datasets for close and audit support.
• Familiarity with planning models such as Anaplan and aligning plan-versus-actuals.
• Experience working within strict internal controls, SOX, audit readiness, IPO readiness, or other regulated environments.
• Ability to work directly with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance Ops.
• Candidates must reside in and work remotely from Portugal.
