This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop the long-term technical strategy for Lime’s Corporate Data Warehouse.
• Create a scalable Finance-grade semantic layer that supports Finance, Accounting, and Corporate Technology analytics.
• Oversee the Finance data modeling strategy across NetSuite, sub-ledgers, and core systems.
• Define and uphold standards for dbt modeling, SQL style, CI/CD, documentation, and automated testing.
• Construct reconciliation-ready datasets for month-end close and audits.
• Implement control totals, roll-forwards, sub-ledger-to-GL tie-outs, variance explanations, and maintain transparent lineage.
• Enforce data governance and controls relating to ownership, glossary, lineage, change management, access patterns, and data quality validation.
• Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance Operations stakeholders.
• Assist with month-end close workflows, audit evidence requirements, and building stakeholder trust.
• Assess and integrate orchestration and automation capabilities throughout ingestion, transformation, and reporting pipelines.
• Establish alerting, observability, and SLA monitoring.
• Mentor Analytics Engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and collaborative work.
• Report directly to the Corporate Technology Analytics Manager within Enterprise Engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in analytics engineering or data warehousing.
• Proven history of designing architectures that can scale in rapidly growing environments.
• Strong backend instincts encompassing data contracts, idempotency, late-arriving data, reprocessing, control totals, and lineage.
• Ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders at the Director/VP level.
• More than 5 years of experience building and scaling cloud data stacks, with AWS preferred.
• In-depth production experience with Snowflake.
• Expert-level proficiency in high-performance SQL.
• Strong Python skills for transformation, tooling, and automation.
• Extensive dbt expertise, including macros, packages, performance patterns, and project structuring.
• Experience with dimensional modeling, ELT pipeline design, and semantic layer design.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Experience implementing CI/CD for data pipelines, version-controlled schemas, automated testing, code review standards, and release management.
• Knowledge of reliability and observability practices.
• Familiarity with data governance tools and practices such as cataloging, lineage, PII masking, and role-based access control.
• Working knowledge of Spark, Flink, or Kafka and CDC/ingestion patterns.
• Experience with Iceberg, Debezium, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
• Understanding of ERP fundamentals, with NetSuite preferred.
• Comfort with GL and sub-ledger complexities and sub-ledger-to-GL reconciliations.
• Knowledge of revenue, COGS, asset balances, depreciation, accruals, and month-end close KPIs.
• Familiarity with fixed assets/FAM, asset lifecycle data, depreciation logic, resets, adjustments, roll-forwards, and auditability.
• Experience in creating reconciliation-ready datasets for close and audit support.
• Familiarity with planning models such as Anaplan.
• Experience working within stringent internal controls, including SOX, audit readiness, IPO readiness, or other regulated environments.
• Ability to work directly with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance Operations.
• Candidates must reside in Canada.
