Senior Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and construct data models that facilitate financial reporting, GTM analytics, and insights related to products and operations.

• Create scalable and sustainable solutions while delivering incremental value and refining processes based on user feedback.

• Convert vague requirements from Finance, Revenue Operations, Marketing, and Product into clearly defined technical solutions with effort assessments.

• Collaborate within the Hub & Spoke architecture alongside upstream data owners, downstream Looker/LookML developers, and domain pods.

• Generate documentation that includes column descriptions, model contracts, and architectural notes.

• Identify underlying issues and implement systemic solutions.

• Maintain pipeline health through proactive monitoring, incident management, and risk assessment.

• Oversee sprint commitments while contributing to team planning, task decomposition, estimation, and prioritization.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers through coaching, code reviews, and technical sessions.

• Design canonical data models that unify disparate systems across CRMs, ERPs, and product platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Mastery of SQL, including query optimization, maintainable code practices, and advanced analytical techniques such as window functions.

• Experience in designing enterprise-level dimensional models on contemporary cloud data warehouses like BigQuery or Snowflake.

• Proficiency in partitioning, incremental patterns, and performance enhancement techniques.

• Direct experience modeling SaaS, CRM, or ERP source systems, including Salesforce or NetSuite.

• Ability to translate CRM/ERP object models into dimensional schemas.

• Demonstrated production experience with Dataform or dbt, covering materializations, incremental strategies, snapshots, and macros.

• Familiarity with GDPR, SOX, and data access control regulations.

• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, linting, and deployment workflows is preferred.

• Knowledge of Python or JavaScript for data engineering tools is a plus.

• Experience with LookML or similar semantic layer technologies is an advantage.

• Understanding of data contracts for pipeline validation is beneficial.

• Familiarity with AI/LLM-assisted development tools is a plus.

• Knowledge of revenue and finance domains is an added advantage.
