This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take charge of the transformation layer connecting raw data to business decisions.
• Model organizational data using dbt.
• Establish certified metrics utilized throughout the company.
• Set standards for analysts and data scientists.
• Lead the implementation of a top-tier metric layer, which includes modeling conventions, project structuring, testing, CI, and documentation.
• Design and maintain the certified KPI layer for product, finance, and company-wide topics.
• Develop KPI models that are resilient enough to pass audit scrutiny.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to enhance the data warehouse architecture.
• Work with stakeholders to convert ambiguous questions into reliable, reusable data products.
• Deliver data through AI agents when applicable.
• Proven experience in building and scaling a dbt project and metrics layer, ideally as one of the initial analytics engineers on an expanding team.
• Expert proficiency in dbt and advanced SQL.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, grain, and incremental patterns.
• Familiarity with BigQuery or a comparable data warehouse.
• Proficient in Python.
• Experienced with BI tools such as Looker.
• Strong focus on data quality, including testing, documentation, and reconciliation.
• Capability to comprehend diverse stakeholder requirements, provide constructive feedback when necessary, and translate them into generalized, well-documented models.
• Ability to work within CET / ET time zones.
• Required experience in dbt project and metrics layer implementation.
• Bonus: experience in modeling billing, subscription, and ARR data using Stripe or Salesforce.
• Bonus: experience in modeling product event data at scale.
• Bonus: experience in serving data to LLM-based agents or creating semantic/metrics layers utilized by AI tools.
• Bonus: experience with Slim CI, data contracts, PII policy tags, and infrastructure-as-code for warehouse access.
