Analytics Engineer – Specialist I, Data Directorate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee data modeling and maintain robust layers within GCP/BigQuery.

• Convert intricate business rules into clean, efficient, and version-controlled code.

• Conduct ad hoc exploratory analyses to address issues and derive insights.

• Mitigate data-related impacts on Data Science models.

• Execute automated testing, quality monitoring, and maintain technical documentation.

• Guarantee the reliability of essential metrics and adherence to Brazil’s LGPD data protection regulations.

• Enhance query and pipeline performance while managing cloud processing costs.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and business teams on discovery and solution architecture.

• Develop semantic layers in Looker.

• Guide the team through code reviews, pair programming, and the application of best practices.

• Foster a Self-Service BI culture.

• Analyze root causes and manage requests from requirements through to production validation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Consultative profile with the ability to independently lead end-to-end processes.

• Proven experience in discovery, refinement, documentation, development, validation, and production delivery.

• Strong dedication to testing, governance, LGPD compliance, and minimizing recurring incidents.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Google BigQuery.

• Governance over query and process efficiency as well as cost management.

• Proficient in Python for data applications and in the creation and maintenance of Stored Procedures (PROCs).

• Substantial experience in data modeling and the development of semantic layers.

• Extensive background with Looker, metric layers, and interactive dashboards.

• Practical experience with Airflow.

• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
