This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish the data foundation for Airbnb.org utilizing data models, metrics, and dashboards.
• Design, develop, and implement efficient, reliable, and maintainable data models and pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineering.
• Define, create, implement, and document metrics and dimensions.
• Ensure data quality through testing, auditing, validation, incident response, and corrective measures.
• Identify, enhance, or phase out low-quality or redundant data assets.
• Integrate data quality improvements into the team roadmap.
• Create and develop dashboards and self-service data products.
• Write technical designs that outline benefits, risks, and trade-offs.
• Seek and offer peer feedback on designs and code.
• Comprehend stakeholder requirements across Marketing, Fundraising, Programs, Product, Data Science, and Engineering.
• Prioritize project tasks in alignment with the goals of Airbnb.org.
• Mentor and share expertise with fellow data professionals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business inquiries into metrics and data products.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar field.
• Proven experience managing significant data projects from inception to completion, including those with loosely defined scopes, covering scoping, design, and delivery.
• Strong SQL expertise and experience in optimizing queries on distributed data processing systems such as Spark, Presto, or Hive.
• Extensive experience in dimensional data modeling, schema design, and metric definition.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language relevant to data tasks, such as Python.
• Familiarity with an ETL/orchestration framework like Airflow.
• Capable of clearly communicating technical solutions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to adjust to competing priorities.
• Demonstrated success in both collaborative and independent work settings.
• A strong commitment to high data quality, meticulous attention to detail, and an ownership mindset regarding system reliability.
• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. maintains a registered entity.
• Preferred: Skills in Minerva and Tableau, along with a keen eye for design in dashboards and visualization tools.
