This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take charge of the development and upkeep of finance and market risk data marts, enhancing performance, data quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Design, construct, and document robust data pipelines that produce essential financial reports and metrics.
• Create, automate, and sustain reporting and monitoring systems for brokerage operations.
• Collaborate with brokerage and market risk stakeholders to initiate and support financial product launches and model development projects.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations for brokerage KPIs, profitability metrics, and regulatory reporting needs.
• Offer business intelligence assistance for trade and collateral monitoring, financial reporting, product performance analysis, and forecasting activities.
• Convert intricate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
• Engage in code reviews and contribute to best practices in data engineering and analytics.
• Mentor junior team members and share technical expertise.
• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics development.
• Proficiency in data mart architecture, design, and management.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, performance optimization, and handling large-scale datasets.
• Experience in brokerage operations or financial services, with a preference for knowledge of accounting principles and market risk concepts.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and financial product structures is advantageous.
• Practical experience in building and orchestrating data pipelines using dbt, Airflow, or similar tools.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services like S3 and Redshift, Snowflake, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and scripting tasks.
• Experience using Git and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, and conducting code reviews.
• Capability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, data-driven solutions.
• Strong data visualization skills using platforms such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Understanding of analytics engineering principles and the creation of maintainable, well-documented data models.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance, risk, and product teams.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
• Permanent residency in Canada is required for the role’s location.
