Senior Analyst, Underwriting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +42 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct financial analysis and underwriting tasks

• Oversee intricate PBM pricing strategies and their implementation

• Evaluate risks and formulate suggestions to enhance client value while maintaining margins

• Create pricing proposals for various business lines through competitive analysis

• Support Aetna Underwriting leadership with downstream pricing using segment-specific data

• Execute tasks within Caremark Underwriting models

• Appropriately modify Fee Authorization Forms

• Perform ad hoc analyses for both internal and client inquiries

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with Sales and Account Management teams

• Collaborate with Caremark and Aetna Finance partners on the development and validation of margin budgets

• Draft and revise complex Pricing Commitment Documents that detail pricing and contract conditions

• Provide guidance to Caremark Legal as the Underwriting subject matter expert during contract discussions

• Analyze and provide insights on implementation scenarios related to regulatory modifications

• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure precise and timely implementation of pricing strategies

• Report directly to the Senior Manager of PBM Underwriting

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in a health plan actuarial, PBM financial analysis, or underwriting role, or equivalent industry experience

• Previous experience in PBM/Health Plan or PBM/Employer settings is preferred

• Actuarial experience and certifications are advantageous

• Strong technical proficiency, especially in Excel

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, statistics, actuarial science, or related fields, or equivalent experience

• Capacity to analyze and provide recommendations with incomplete information

• Ability to independently seek solutions with minimal supervision

• Competence to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

• Skill in managing tight deadlines

• Up-to-date knowledge of PBM plan management strategies and solutions
