This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess financial outcomes, trends, and noteworthy or atypical variances; investigate the underlying factors and relay findings.
• Create and evaluate annual and interim financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules for the consolidated organization and its subsidiaries.
• Develop financial reporting workpapers, reconciliations, variance analysis, and analytical support for financial, regulatory, tax, and audit submissions.
• Detect and examine financial and regulatory reporting concerns, unusual transactions, data discrepancies, and reconciliation variances; escalate issues as necessary.
• Compile and assess financial data in accordance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Assist with regulatory capital computations and regulatory reporting and submissions, including relevant Bureau of Economic Analysis surveys.
• Facilitate annual and interim external audits as well as financial reporting control and SOX compliance tasks.
• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and business teams on reporting issues and crucial deliverables.
• Employ analytical tools, process enhancements, and automation to elevate the quality, efficiency, and insights of financial reporting.
• Aid in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a comparable field.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, or a related area.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with IFRS and Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the interpretation of financial data, variance investigation, trend identification, and issue resolution with supported conclusions.
• Capability to research accounting and regulatory guidelines and assess new or non-standard reporting issues.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience managing large or complex financial data sets.
• Strong attention to detail, effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to independently handle multiple reporting priorities.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.
• Experience in public accounting or external audit is preferred.
• Experience in the financial services sector is preferred.
• Experience in preparing audited financial statements, SEC registration statements, or similar external financial reports and disclosures is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP or a comparable ERP system; SAP experience is preferred.
• Experience with regulatory capital calculations or regulatory financial reporting is preferred.
• Experience with financial reporting analytics, process improvement, automation, or data visualization tools is preferred.
• Applicants must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.; sponsorship for employment visas, including CPT/OPT, is not available.
• A reliable high-speed internet connection with a wired setup and a minimally disruptive home workspace is required for remote work.
