This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Address intricate business challenges and issues utilizing data from both internal and external sources.
• Deliver insights to key decision-makers.
• Engage in diverse problems of varying scope and complexity, from moderate to significant.
• Assist Humana’s Enterprise Growth organization as a member of the Growth Analytics & AI Team.
• Report directly to the Business Intelligence Principal.
• Develop and enhance business intelligence solutions using SQL, Power BI, and Python/PySpark.
• Occasionally travel to Humana offices for training or meetings.
• Maintain a schedule of 40 hours per week.
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of technical experience in data analysis, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
• Proficient in advanced Python/PySpark.
• Expertise in Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, scheduled jobs/workflows, and service principal authentication.
• Experience in refactoring and optimizing Python/PySpark codebases.
• Skilled in building production data pipelines with established schemas, validation gates, and structured error logging.
• Advanced SQL proficiency, including stored procedure execution and integration with SQL Server systems of record.
• Familiarity with Git-based engineering practices: branching, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating requirements among business, project management, and technical initiatives.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills directed towards senior and executive leadership.
• Must be committed to this position for a minimum of twelve (12) months before pursuing other opportunities at Humana.
• Preferred: advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Preferred: experience with ETL and orchestration platforms, including Azure Data Factory, Airflow, dbt, Delta Live Tables, or Lakeflow.
• Preferred: familiarity with data quality frameworks such as dbt tests or DLT expectations.
• Preferred: experience with pipeline observability, including job monitoring, alerting, SLAs, and incident runbooks.
• Preferred: front-end development skills using TypeScript (Angular or React), including component architecture and REST consumption.
• Preferred: knowledge of ontology or knowledge-graph modeling, including LinkML, RDF/OWL/SHACL, or equivalent.
