Senior Analyst, Data Science and Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of designated analytics and data science workstreams from problem identification to delivery.

• Convert business requirements into analytical strategies, models, dashboards, and actionable insights.

• Develop, validate, sustain, and document analytical solutions to aid business decision-making.

• Utilize statistical analysis, machine learning, Python, SQL, BigQuery, and contemporary analytics libraries to tackle complex business challenges.

• Ensure that analytical outputs are reproducible, well-documented, scalable, and meet quality standards.

• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to shape analyses around business inquiries and strategic goals.

• Present findings and recommendations via reports, presentations, dashboards, and documentation.

• Communicate updates, risks, dependencies, and obstacles while fostering cross-functional relationships.

• Discover opportunities to automate recurring analyses and enhance operational efficiency.

• Prioritize tasks across multiple assignments and monitor delivery using Jira and established team processes.

• Document best practices and provide mentorship to junior team members and interns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Physics, or another quantitative discipline.

• Two to four years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related field.

• Familiarity with the fundamentals of statistical analysis and machine learning.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to take charge of deliverables, prioritize tasks, and produce scalable, high-quality analytical solutions with moderate independence.

• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Advanced proficiency in BigQuery.

• Experience with contemporary machine learning ecosystems and analytics libraries.

• Familiarity with cloud-based artificial intelligence and data platforms.

• Ability to apply statistical analysis and machine learning methodologies to business problems.

• Experience in an Agile environment and familiarity with Jira or similar tools for managing and tracking work is preferred.

• Prior experience mentoring junior team members or interns is preferred.
