Data Analyst - Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and implement scripts to extract, transform, and load data from various source systems into target databases.

• Analyze source data structures, field mappings, and legacy databases to pinpoint data quality issues, missing fields, and conversion bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with business analysts and clients to establish data mapping rules and validate the completeness and accuracy of migrations.

• Create scalable scripts and automated tools to optimize repeatable migration processes and minimize manual intervention.

• Keep comprehensive documentation of data conversion routines, mapping logic, and procedures for handling exceptions.

• Generate post-conversion reconciliation reports.

• Identify and resolve data discrepancies, transformation errors, and performance issues during testing and production cutovers.

• Adhere to Milsoft’s values and principles regarding ethics, integrity, and corporate responsibility.

• Exhibit regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and compliance with applicable health and safety protocols.

• Undertake additional duties as required or as assigned occasionally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient scripting skills in languages such as Python for data parsing and file manipulation.

• Expertise in crafting complex SQL queries, stored procedures, joins, and indexing (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server).

• Experience with various file formats, including JSON, XML, CSV, fixed-width files, and relational database dumps.

• Familiarity with building, running, and/or maintaining ETL pipelines is preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills to convey complex data mapping challenges in simple terms for non-technical stakeholders.
