This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.
• Act as the main point of contact for leaders and colleagues on matters related to performance, attendance, behavioral concerns, policy interpretation, and the application of CVS Health policies and the Code of Conduct.
• Manage a high volume of colleague inquiries through calls and emails regarding employment practices and policies.
• Address colleague concerns during the initial outreach whenever feasible.
• Serve as the first point of contact via a centralized phone system, handling up to 75% of calls.
• Identify issues in real-time and document relevant call details and consultations provided.
• Allocate cases to the suitable team, including categorizing and prioritizing them effectively.
• Evaluate and respond to inquiries received through email, self-service portals, and Ethics Line reporting, typically 25% of the time.
• Utilize available resources to achieve first-contact resolution and offer proactive support to colleagues.
• Assist in the interpretation and application of CVS Health policies and the Code of Conduct.
• Consult with leaders regarding issues related to colleague discipline and performance.
• Elevate inquiries to the appropriate teams for further examination and consultation when necessary.
• Collaborate with the Legal department to retain and provide records as requested.
• Address workforce-reduction inquiries and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Offer cross-functional support to other business areas as needed.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and/or as an HR Generalist; leadership experience may be considered as a substitute.
• Ability to demonstrate empathy, prioritize people, and foster trust.
• Skill in interacting effectively with colleagues across all organizational levels.
• Capacity to make sound, constructive business decisions while minimizing risk and adverse exposure.
• Highly organized with proficient prioritization and time-management abilities.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including expertise in conflict management, investigation, negotiation, and influence.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different functions.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Equivalent years of work experience may be accepted in lieu of the educational requirement.
• Familiarity with current state and federal employment and labor laws and regulations.
• Prior experience in mentoring, leadership, mediation, or consulting is preferred.
• PHR/SPHR and/or CP/SCP (SHRM) certifications are preferred.
