Senior AI Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop systems that incorporate knowledge graphs, ontologies, graph and vector databases, RAG, and related AI-driven application features.

• Create and implement scalable agentic pipelines utilizing custom agent tools, loops, and evaluation methodologies.

• Architect, build, and continuously enhance a modern, interactive web application.

• Choose suitable application frameworks and design user interfaces that are intuitive.

• Make independent architectural and product-related technical decisions.

• Develop and implement backend systems, data models, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations.

• Incorporate AI-driven functionalities such as intelligent search, retrieval, recommendations, and contextual support.

• Collaborate with product teams, designers, domain experts, and company leadership to convert business and user requirements into technical solutions.

• Write, test, debug, and deploy production code personally.

• Contribute to engineering standards and best practices related to software design, code quality, testing, documentation, security, and maintainability.

• Assess and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools.

• Work across the technology stack within a small engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with significant recent involvement in writing and deploying production code.

• Strong foundational skills in full-stack engineering.

• Proven experience with knowledge graphs, ontologies, RAG, retrieval systems, graph databases, vector databases, or similar technologies.

• Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and maintaining production-quality, user-facing web applications.

• Experience in making architectural choices and assessing technical trade-offs across frontend, backend, data, infrastructure, and application integrations.

• Experience utilizing AI tools for engineering tasks across development, testing, deployment, and observability.

• Strong grasp of UI/UX principles and product usability.

• Ability to simplify complex information into user-friendly experiences.

• Capability to quickly prototype technical solutions and assess when to focus on speed, simplicity, scalability, or long-term maintainability.

• Ability to work independently, manage competing tasks, and produce results with minimal supervision.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Willingness and eagerness to learn about unfamiliar technical areas.

• Previous experience in quantum computing is not mandatory.

• Interest in scientific applications is a plus.

• Comfort and familiarity with working in a startup culture.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms and system design is beneficial.

• Desired programming and technical proficiencies include knowledge graphs and ontologies, RAG/retrieval systems, graph databases/Cypher (Neo4j), vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS), agentic design patterns, data pipeline design, React, Supabase/PostgreSQL, GCP/Firebase, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.
