Senior AI Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with technology and production teams, including principal engineers, to define best practices for Platform as a Service implementation.

• Influence and contribute to the development of Agentic Engineering and MCP Server initiatives.

• Establish and implement governance, security, and observability best practices for AI and agentic systems.

• Utilize Kubernetes orchestration and operators to automate the deployment and administration of stateless applications across both on-premises and cloud environments.

• Employ enterprise-grade Kubernetes software to develop, deploy, and manage AI workloads in development and production settings.

• Identify opportunities for process and efficiency enhancements within Platform Services and assist in their implementation.

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives.

• Oversee and maintain platform infrastructure using tools like Datadog for performance monitoring, alerting, and capacity management.

• Engage in efforts to mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.

• Define and document standard operating procedures and runbooks.

• Create and maintain system information and architecture diagrams.

• Develop and sustain microservices, tools, and automation solutions.

• Provide troubleshooting and break-fix support for production software.

• Construct, scale, and secure AI infrastructure for data workflows and management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 8+ years of experience in Software, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.

• 1+ years of experience building AI systems for real-world workflows.

• Practical experience with cloud-native technologies and architectures, including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying AI agents, tool-calling systems, and multi-agent systems.

• Strong proficiency in revision control and DevOps best practices, including Git.

• Extensive Linux experience, particularly with Red Hat and CentOS.

• Knowledge of one or more Unix shell scripting languages, such as Bash or C-Shell.

• Proficient in Python, Java, or JavaScript development.

• Experience in operational support, including monitoring and troubleshooting platform infrastructure using Datadog, Prometheus, or similar tools.

• Strong hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting production workloads running on Kubernetes.

• Experience in developing or deploying custom application servers, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models, and Model Context Protocols (MCP) servers.

• Comprehensive understanding of LLM model integration and tuning.

• Experience in monitoring and managing operational costs related to token usage and GPU compute resources.

• In-depth expertise in at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP.

• Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning.

• Proven experience in designing automation to minimize manual work in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between artists, production management, and engineers.
