Senior AI Fullstack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design and develop user-facing functionalities powered by LLMs.

• Implement evaluation metrics, handle failures, and manage costs for LLM features.

• Make architectural choices and justify trade-offs regarding speed, cost, complexity, and risk.

• Create systems that are highly available, with reasonable latency budgets, graceful degradation, and no single points of failure.

• Manage PII and financial data with due diligence.

• Develop automation and data pipelines that support product functionalities.

• Take ownership of the deployment and operation of services.

• Contribute to defining the team's direction concerning AI tools and strategies.

• Establish requirements in a fast-paced, greenfield environment.

• Take full ownership of projects from prototype to production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive full-stack development experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Senior-level experience in software engineering.

• Proficient in system design, code review, and debugging unfamiliar codebases.

• Strong architectural judgment with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in evaluating risks in environments that manage PII or financial data.

• Proven track record of building highly available, scalable, and performant systems.

• Experience in deploying production code utilizing AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.

• Familiarity with developing and delivering LLM-backed features to end-users, including agents or RAG pipelines.

• Practical insight into the effective use of AI.

• Experience managing end-to-end deployments on a PaaS like Fly.io or Render.

• Capability to work with AWS or GCP for managed services as required.

• Background in creating automation and data workflows.

• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and navigate ambiguous requirements.

• Enthusiasm for creating new features rather than merely supporting existing systems.

• Candidates must reside in Colombia or Costa Rica.

• Experience with Go is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted code review workflows is preferred.

• Experience with evaluations, fine-tuning, or model training is also preferred.
