Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, prototype, and implement AI agents, workflows powered by LLM, and automations that significantly enhance internal operations across finance, support, compliance, sales, and engineering.

• Create production-level integrations between AI systems and ClassWallet’s technology stack, including CRM, support, finance, operations, and engineering tools.

• Develop reusable components, prompt libraries, evaluation frameworks, and internal platforms to facilitate scalable AI adoption throughout the organization.

• Collaborate with Product & Engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into customer-facing product features.

• Work closely with business teams to understand their workflows, pinpoint high-impact AI opportunities, and deliver tailored solutions directly to those teams.

• Collaborate with non-technical staff to construct, refine, and operationalize their individual AI workflows.

• Convert vague business challenges into clear, actionable systems.

• Make informed decisions regarding the AI stack: LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks, RPA, low-code automation, and conventional software engineering, selecting the most suitable tools for each task.

• Set standards for AI development at ClassWallet, ensuring code quality, evaluation, monitoring, prompt management, and cost control.

• Keep abreast of advancements in this rapidly evolving field and introduce relevant innovations to the company proactively.

• Collaborate with the Sr. Director of AI & Automation and Legal/Compliance teams to uphold responsible AI practices, data privacy, and regulatory compliance tailored to fintech and public-sector data.

• Integrate evaluation and observability into AI systems to ensure they function effectively, improve over time, and behave as intended.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of experience in building AI/ML or LLM-based systems in a production environment.

• Strong expertise in Python and contemporary AI development tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar agent and RAG frameworks.

• Proven experience in designing and deploying AI agents and LLM workflows that address real business challenges with measurable results.

• Proficient in automation platforms (e.g., Zapier, n8n, Make, UiPath, or similar) with the ability to determine when to use code versus low-code solutions.

• Comfortable with APIs, webhooks, and integration across SaaS platforms (including Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Slack, Google Workspace, etc.).

• Possess pragmatic engineering instincts—focus on shipping, comfort with uncertainty, and capability to deliver value rapidly.

• Excellent communication skills; able to navigate discussions with executive stakeholders, business users, and technical teams seamlessly.

• Must be based in the US and able to operate effectively in a remote or hybrid environment, with occasional travel to HQ as necessary.

• **Preferred**

• Experience in fintech, govtech, or other regulated sectors.

• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, evaluation frameworks (such as Ragas, OpenAI Evals), and AI observability tools (like LangSmith, Helicone, Langfuse).

• Experience in developing internal AI platforms or developer tools that have scaled across an organization.

• Previous experience in delivering customer-facing AI features within a SaaS product.

• Background in product engineering, data engineering, or applied machine learning.

• A history of mentoring non-technical colleagues to become effective AI users.
