Senior AI Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the creation and assessment of machine learning systems that drive the enterprise AI platform.

• Collaborate closely with the Chief Science Officer and Engineering teams to construct and launch production-level ML and LLM-powered functionalities.

• Employ rigorous experimentation, evaluation, and product analytics to consistently enhance quality, user impact, and business outcomes.

• Design and develop machine learning systems for enterprise search, retrieval, recommendations, and AI-driven agents.

• Establish evaluation frameworks and metrics for LLM-driven applications.

• Create scalable data and ML pipelines to process and analyze extensive AI interaction data.

• Utilize statistical modeling, experimentation, and causal inference to inform product development and strategic decision-making.

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to transform research and insights into production-ready features.

• Assess product usage and customer behavior to enhance AI adoption, productivity, and user experience.

• Prototype, assess, and implement AI functionalities utilizing foundation models, embeddings, and RAG techniques.

• Define KPIs and construct analytical frameworks that guide product strategy and company-wide decisions.

• Influence the technical direction of the AI platform by identifying opportunities in machine learning and generative AI.

• Spot opportunities, develop strong viewpoints, and translate them into actionable strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Science, Applied Machine Learning, or a quantitative research role.

• A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Economics, Physics, or another highly quantitative discipline.

• Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production and transforming ambiguous challenges into quantifiable solutions.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL, with a background in building scalable data and ML pipelines.

• In-depth knowledge of statistics, experimentation, causal inference, and predictive modeling.

• Experience with large-scale datasets and contemporary data infrastructure.

• Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings, retrieval systems, RAG, or AI-driven agents.

• Strong analytical and technical judgment with the capacity to convert vague product and business inquiries into precise analytical or machine learning strategies.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Product, Design, and Leadership teams.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and taking initiative without requiring explicit direction.

• High standards for personal work and the ability to act swiftly without compromising quality.

• Experience in building or assessing LLM-powered products or AI applications.

• Background in search, recommendation systems, information retrieval, or knowledge graphs.

• Experience in designing A/B tests, offline evaluations, and ML benchmarking frameworks.

• Familiarity with vector databases, embedding models, and agent orchestration frameworks.

• Contributions to open-source ML projects or published works in machine learning, NLP, or related fields.

• Experience in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or enterprise AI products.

• Residing in NYC and capable of working from our Brooklyn office, or remotely within the U.S., with a readiness to travel up to 30% of the year for in-person team collaboration.
