This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Assist the National Attest Office by conducting engagement quality reviews in accordance with PCAOB standards, primarily focusing on SPAC engagements.
• Examine financial statements, audit workpapers, key accounting and auditing conclusions, as well as engagement documentation.
• Assess adherence to PCAOB standards, SEC reporting and independence criteria, relevant AICPA standards, and the Firm’s policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with engagement teams and EQR leadership to convey review findings and address any unresolved issues.
• Aid in meeting seasonal filing deadlines.
• Offer technical insights on PCAOB standards, SEC regulations, auditor independence, and Firm consultation obligations.
• Clearly and consistently document EQR conclusions.
• Recognize recurring themes in reviews and communicate opportunities for quality enhancement to NAO or EQR leadership.
• Adhere to professional standards, Firm policies, confidentiality, time-entry protocols, and audit quality-control requirements.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions actively.
• Fulfill required CPE for Firm and licensing requirements.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with others.
• Over 10 years of public accounting experience, with considerable audit exposure serving public companies, SPACs, SEC registrants, or PCAOB-inspected engagements.
• Prior experience as an engagement quality reviewer, concurring reviewer, national office reviewer, or in a similar technical review position is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, PCAOB standards, and SEC reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with pre- and post-SPAC IPOs, registration statements, comfort letters, quarterly/annual public filings, de-SPAC transactions, and related audit and review considerations.
• Preferred experience with complex financial instruments and fair value assessments.
• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking capabilities.
• Effective and professional communication skills with a diverse audience.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
• Adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, innovative, and ever-evolving environment.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak SPAC filing periods, including weekdays and weekends as required.
• Capacity to uphold required CPE for Firm and licensing standards.
