This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing client service and account activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor in client meetings.
• Assess client requirements and create proactive, innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with various business lines to introduce additional services when suitable.
• Offer strategic recommendations for the management of defined benefit pension plans.
• Provide guidance on plan design, valuation, risk management, regulatory compliance, employee education, and plan administration.
• Formulate and execute strategic plans that align with clients’ long-term goals.
• Contribute to the ongoing sustainability of pension plans.
• Mentor and provide technical support to junior team members.
• Manage project delivery, including scope, quality, fees, budgets, and timelines.
• Enhance industry visibility through presentations at conferences and workshops.
• Identify opportunities for new business and support the growth of existing clients.
• Assist with RFPs, finalist presentations, and marketing materials to boost lead generation.
• Over 10 years of experience in consulting on defined benefit pension plans.
• Strong understanding of pension legislation and actuarial standards, including pension plan valuation, financial projections, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships at the highest levels within client organizations and influence key decision-makers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment while supporting the mentorship of junior colleagues.
• Excellent project management capabilities with a track record of managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Capability to meet performance expectations within a specific practice area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Expertise in thought leadership and subject matter knowledge.
• Outstanding communication, consulting, and presentation skills.
• Keen attention to detail and precision in data analysis and reporting.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about actuarial science, financial markets, industry changes, and pension trends.
• Strong business and financial acumen, including knowledge of market strategies and tactics.
• Professional actuarial qualifications and certifications: fully qualified FCIA or nearing qualification (preferred).
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French (preferred).
