Senior Accounts Receivable Manager – E-Commerce, Tax Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design the accounting systems framework and lead automation throughout the entire Order-to-Cash workflow.

• Organize international tax reporting for the One Stop Shop (OSS), VAT returns, and EC Sales Lists, transitioning to a standardized, tool-assisted procedure.

• Enhance cash application and bank reconciliation processes with payment service providers, including PayPal, Stripe, and Amazon Payments.

• Prepare operational processes for new countries and sales channels.

• Develop DSO and revenue reporting metrics.

• Serve as the escalation point for disputed invoices, cases requiring marketplace clarification, and compliance-related issues.

• Ensure the accuracy of postings and filings through spot checks and standardized procedures.

• Disseminate process knowledge within the team and establish strong coverage arrangements.

• Oversee and take responsibility for the Accounts Receivable section during the month-end closing.

• Calculate and record month-end accruals.

• Offer subject-matter expertise when integrating new sales channels and entering new markets.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting, particularly in Accounts Receivable (A/R) or receivables management.

• Experience in the e-commerce sector, marketplaces, or multichannel environments, encompassing fee structures, settlements, chargebacks, and returns.

• In-depth knowledge of international VAT reporting, including OSS, VAT returns, and EC Sales Lists (ESL).

• Familiarity with DATEV, SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP/accounting systems.

• Experience with e-commerce accounting tools, such as Shopify and WooCommerce integrations or marketplace APIs, is a plus.

• Demonstrated success in developing and automating financial processes.

• Capable of providing functional leadership, sharing insights, ensuring quality, and managing escalations with confidence.

• Proficient in German at C1 level.

• Strong command of English.
