Senior Accounts Payable Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Lead a comprehensive, supervisor-driven Accounts Payable operation, establishing priorities, performance expectations, service levels, and operational rhythms.

• Mentor and develop team supervisors to enhance leadership capabilities.

• Collaborate with senior leaders on workforce planning, capacity management, and workload distribution.

• Assess structural, process, and talent requirements and implement scalable solutions.

• Act as a subject matter expert in carrier payable operations, covering agency bill and direct bill processes, commission statements, premium remittance, reconciliations, and payment structures.

• Oversee all aspects of Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, carrier payments, approvals, exceptions, and reconciliations.

• Ensure controls, audit readiness, compliance, and fiduciary standards are upheld across payment workflows and premium trust-related activities.

• Set and monitor operational metrics, backlog statuses, quality trends, payment timeliness, and reconciliation performance.

• Spearhead process improvements and system enhancements to minimize manual tasks, bolster controls, enhance reporting, and boost accuracy and efficiency.

• Leverage analytical tools, reconciliation models, and operational reports to assess trends, pinpoint root causes, and support data-driven decision-making.

• Address complex, non-routine payment or reconciliation challenges.

• Collaborate with senior finance leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to communicate performance, influence priorities, and align on risks, opportunities, and improvement strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Regular position.

• Fluency in the English language is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.

• Proven experience leading Accounts Payable, carrier payable, finance operations, treasury operations, accounting operations, or another complex high-volume payment function.

• Demonstrated experience managing through supervisors or people leaders, including responsibility for performance, coaching, workload management, and leadership development.

• Background in leading or supporting high-volume finance, Accounts Payable, or carrier payable functions within a large, complex organization.

• Strong understanding of reconciliations, payment workflows, controls, compliance, audit readiness, reporting, and operational risk management.

• Proven track record of leading major initiatives, solving complex business challenges, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving scalable improvements.

• Strategic leadership and functional decision-making capabilities in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment.

• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills.

• Excellent people leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and influencing abilities.

• Experience in supporting automation, workflow redesign, reporting, and scalable operational practices.

• Strong organizational, prioritization, professionalism, and financial operations acumen.

• Preferred: experience in a complex and fast-paced insurance environment.

• Preferred: experience integrating teams, processes, controls, or reporting following mergers, acquisitions, or organizational restructuring.

• Preferred: familiarity with insurance-specific platforms or agency management systems such as AIM, AMS360, Applied Epic, EPIC, Sagitta, or similar systems.
