This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the monthly closing process, which includes bank, card, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Oversee the payout cycles for licensors and partners, managing everything from calculation to review, approval, reconciliation, and reporting.

• Examine payment files to ensure compliance with contract terms, advances, recoupment, payment routing, and accompanying schedules.

• Reconcile activities from Tipalti and Ramp with the Troveo licensor dashboard.

• Address payment inquiries from licensors and partners while collaborating with the Supply Side team.

• Generate customer invoices, manage receivables aging, conduct follow-ups on collections, and resolve any disputes.

• Reconcile customer receipts with licensor payment obligations and keep track of margin and pass-through accuracy.

• Maintain deferred revenue, prepaid licensor fees, and accrual schedules.

• Apply US GAAP and revenue-recognition principles to transactions driven by contracts.

• Classify cost of sales and operating expenses, and rectify issues related to prior-period billing and schedules.

• Assist in preparing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Coordinate with external GAAP and tax advisors while managing schedules, payee documentation, deadlines, and operational execution.

• Oversee compliance activities related to 1099, 1042/1042-S, withholding, and sales tax.

• Collect and review W-9 and W-8 documentation, tracking exemptions and withholding.

• Manage reimbursements, corporate cards, vendor onboarding, QuickBooks, Ramp, and Tipalti.

• Ensure access controls and maintain process documentation.

• Coordinate payroll, contractor payments, and benefits administration through TriNet and Deel.

• Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

• Provide accounting support for bonus calculations.

• Enhance and develop accounting processes and controls as the deal volume increases.

• Report directly to the CFO and act as the primary finance contact for the Supply Side team and licensors.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant hands-on responsibility for the monthly close; fewer years may be considered for candidates with independent experience in a high-growth startup environment.

• Experience in a startup or similarly resource-constrained environment.

• Direct experience with royalties, revenue sharing, licensing, marketplace payouts, commissions, or complex partner payments.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue-recognition standards.

• Experience with deferred revenue, accruals, prepaid schedules, and documented reconciliations.

• Practical experience using QuickBooks.

• Familiarity with modern financial tools.

• Proficient in Excel.

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred: experience with international withholding, 1042/1042-S filing, multi-state sales tax, or cross-border contractor payments.

• Preferred: experience using Tipalti, Ramp, Bill, Deel, TriNet, or similar tools.

• Preferred: background in media, entertainment, marketplace, data licensing, or AI industries; CPA or comparable certification is a plus.

• Preferred: experience in automating accounting workflows or supporting rapid revenue growth.

• Meaningful overlap with core Pacific Time business hours.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations.
