Senior Accountant – Technical Accounting, External Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, analyze, and document the accounting treatment for both complex and non-routine transactions in accordance with US GAAP.

• Create technical accounting memos and position papers, presenting findings to management and external auditors.

• Prepare and review external financial statements, including footnotes and disclosures; assist in quarterly and annual audits.

• Take ownership of or assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages for private equity sponsors and investor stakeholders.

• Collaborate with FP&A and deal/portfolio teams to address investor data requests and prepare board reports.

• Stay informed on emerging accounting standards and evaluate their implications for financial statements.

• Support technical accounting components of M&A transactions, including purchase accounting and integration of acquired entities.

• Enhance and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and process documentation.

• Work alongside Legal, Tax, and Treasury departments on transactions that have accounting implications.

• Guide junior accounting staff and contribute to improvements in the close and reporting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is required (or in progress).

• 4–7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) and/or a technical accounting position in the industry.

• Strong understanding of US GAAP, encompassing revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), and business combinations (ASC 805).

• Experience in preparing or assisting with external financial statements and audit deliverables.

• Exceptional written communication abilities, with a talent for drafting clear and well-supported technical memos.

• Proficient in Excel; familiarity with ERP systems (Dynamics BC) is preferred.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, private-equity-owned environment.

• Prior experience in a private equity-backed company or in preparing reporting packages for private equity/institutional investors is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of covenant compliance reporting, credit agreement requirements, and sponsor reporting timelines is a plus.
