Senior Accountant – Revenue Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assess customer contracts, order forms, amendments, and renewals to evaluate revenue recognition implications in accordance with ASC 606.

• Analyze performance obligations, pricing structures, billing frameworks, variable considerations, termination rights, and payment conditions.

• Identify revenue-related risks and non-standard terms that could impact revenue recognition, allocation, or reporting.

• Ensure adherence to ASC 606 regulations and internal revenue recognition policies.

• Offer accounting guidance and document outcomes for complex and non-standard contractual arrangements.

• Evaluate revenue treatment concerning contract modifications, renewals, terminations, refunds, and multi-element agreements.

• Assist with SSP reviews, transaction price allocation, and validation of revenue schedules.

• Prepare and maintain audit-ready revenue documentation and memos.

• Collaborate with Deal Desk, Legal, Sales, and Finance teams regarding contract structures and revenue implications.

• Support both internal and external audit inquiries related to contract assessments and revenue recognition.

• Aid in month-end closing activities, revenue reporting evaluations, reconciliations, and variance analyses.

• Identify opportunities to enhance revenue processes, controls, documentation, and automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in Revenue Accounting, Technical Accounting, or a comparable role.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 (US GAAP) and principles of revenue recognition.

• Experience in reviewing contracts and interpreting commercial terms.

• Familiarity with SaaS, subscription-based, or technology-driven business models.

• Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation capabilities.

• Ability to convey accounting conclusions clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

• Complete security and privacy literacy and awareness training during onboarding and annually thereafter, if required for the role.

• Review, comprehend, and adhere to Information Security/Privacy Policies and Procedures, if required for the role.
