This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of monthly revenue closing activities for direct-to-consumer (DTC), marketplace, wholesale, and other relevant sales channels.
• Prepare and evaluate journal entries related to revenue, reconciliations, rollforward schedules, and variance analyses.
• Reconcile sales, discounts, refunds, chargebacks, gift cards, shipping revenue, payment processor settlements, marketplace remittances, and customer receivables against the general ledger.
• Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and the company's accounting policies.
• Analyze net sales, returns and allowances, as well as deferred revenue.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies across operational systems, e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, payment processors, ERP subledgers, and the general ledger.
• Conduct revenue cut-off procedures at the end of each month and fiscal year.
• Review customer agreements, marketplace terms, distributor agreements, and promotional programs for revenue recognition treatment.
• Monitor customer deductions and collaborate with Sales teams for resolution and accounting.
• Analyze trends in returns, refunds, and deductions to support reserve calculations.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service to identify root causes of deductions, claims, returns, and billing issues.
• Act as a key accounting resource for NetSuite revenue workflows, order-to-cash processes, integrations, saved searches, reports, and reconciliation design.
• Work alongside Engineering and Operations on system implementations, sales channel configurations, ERP setups, integrations, and user-acceptance testing.
• Automate manual processes, such as reconciliations and chargebacks.
• Manage month-end close for designated non-revenue general ledger accounts.
• Maintain and enhance revenue-related internal control documentation.
• Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, policy documentation, and supporting evidence.
• Maintain revenue accounting policies, process narratives, and desktop procedures.
• Draft audit-ready technical accounting memos.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting, financial close, general ledger management, and high-volume transactional accounting.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially ASC 606.
• Experience in high-volume transaction environments, ideally involving DTC e-commerce, wholesale, marketplaces, retail, consumer products, or omnichannel businesses.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, reporting tools, or data-reconciliation tools is a plus.
• Preferred experience reconciling data from e-commerce platforms, payment processors, marketplaces, fulfillment systems, and/or customer portals.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to document accounting conclusions and communicate effectively with non-accountants.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must reside anywhere in the United States and be authorized to work in the U.S.
