This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the activities related to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Create close schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and financial reporting deliverables.
• Generate income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements, and routine financial reporting packages.
• Develop supporting schedules, conduct account analyses, provide variance explanations, and support consolidation efforts.
• Manage intercompany and consolidation accounting, which includes reconciliations, eliminations, cross-entity entries, multi-entity consolidation, and resolving intercompany discrepancies.
• Prepare entries and schedules for foreign currency accounting, including FX translation, remeasurement, and related reconciliations.
• Assist with statutory and multi-country accounting as well as reporting processes.
• Create entity-level reporting schedules and reconcile local reports with the general ledger.
• Handle investment accounting, which encompasses investment entries, calculations of realized and unrealized gains/losses, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare schedules for audit, tax, and compliance support.
• Address information requests and provide assistance with accounting inquiries.
• Maintain necessary supporting documentation.
• Review work completed by others, if applicable.
• Collaborate with the Controller and Finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting, while also facilitating process improvements in a global context.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP; knowledge of IFRS is preferred.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; familiarity with Sage Intacct is preferred.
• Preferred experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency, or global environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting automation or reporting tools is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of researching discrepancies, resolving accounting issues, and maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and take ownership of assigned accounting processes.
• Willingness to embrace additional responsibilities and swiftly establish credibility in new work areas.
• Self-motivated and proactive, demonstrating strong ownership and accountability.
