This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support the creation and upkeep of precise financial data for designated general ledger segments.
• Evaluate and reconcile general ledger accounts while preparing financial statements for the Health Ministry and the Market Record to Report shared services area.
• Utilize knowledge of healthcare financial operations, US GAAP, regulatory reporting standards, and IRS guidelines.
• Foster relationships with leaders from the Health Ministry, Service Area, Trinity Health, and associated entities.
• Assist during internal and external audits, conduct periodic financial record assessments, prepare financial statements, and address Federal Awards audit prerequisites alongside other audit obligations.
• Execute agreed-upon audit recommendations within the designated areas.
• Aid in the preparation of annual 990 and additional tax returns, gathering data for community benefit reporting.
• Support sales and use tax, local personal property tax, escheatment, government surveys, and related documentation.
• Complete inter-company billing, facilitate cash transfers, and reconcile inter-company balances.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement best practices to streamline accounting workflows.
• Undertake special projects, conduct financial analyses, and perform research.
• Prepare monthly accounting entries and supporting documentation for the PeopleSoft general ledger system.
• Reconcile, analyze, and adjust general ledger accounts as necessary.
• Maintain accurate reconciliation workpapers and adhere to deadlines.
• Investigate issues and potential resolutions under the guidance of the manager.
• Assist with year-end financial reporting packages and audit workpapers.
• Research and compile information to support operational projects and initiatives.
• Analyze data, create summaries, and produce graphical trend presentations, recommending solutions and delivering financial analytics to support leadership decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience, such as extensive experience in healthcare accounting and/or HFMA certifications, is acceptable in lieu of the degree requirement.
• A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with US GAAP is required.
• Proven experience in conducting financial analysis, including the research and examination of accounting issues.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Prior experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Exposure to Fixed Assets is preferred.
• Capable of organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple tasks in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
