Senior Accountant, Regulatory Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive accounting and reporting for designated entities and cost areas, encompassing closing procedures, reporting, and controls.

• Generate statutory and regulatory reports for various legal entities across Circle’s jurisdictions.

• Execute month-end closing tasks, including management accounts, period-end journal entries, reconciliations, and reviewing auto-matched ERP transactions.

• Investigate variations in key balance sheet and profit & loss accounts.

• Prepare documentation for SEC disclosures and other external financial reporting needs.

• Assess agreements for adherence to U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and local reporting standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes, automation, and AI-driven improvements.

• Manage and refine control design and execution, covering documentation, testing readiness, and identifying control gaps in accordance with ICFR/SOX requirements.

• Oversee SOX compliance, audit, and tax obligations.

• Participate in special projects and conduct ad hoc accounting analyses.

• Utilize AI tools and automation platforms to minimize manual tasks and enhance efficiency in reporting, closing, and reconciliation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, either in Big 4 audit or within a technology, fintech, or financial institution.

• ACA / CPA / ACCA or an equivalent credential is required.

• Proficient understanding of IFRS is necessary.

• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP is highly preferred.

• Solid knowledge of regulatory reporting, particularly for financial institutions.

• Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines while balancing competing priorities.

• Strong sense of accountability and ownership.

• Proven ability to carry out complex reconciliations and variance analyses.

• Willingness to learn and engage with contemporary AI tools and automation platforms.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a global team across different time zones.

• Professional-level proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.

• Familiarity with blockchain technology and digital assets is preferred.

• Practical experience with Claude, ChatGPT, N8N, or other similar AI and automation tools is preferred.

• Experience with Oracle Fusion or a comparable ERP, Slack, and Google Workspace is preferred.

• Background in cross-functional collaboration within a remote-first, high-growth environment is preferred.
