
Senior Accountant – Provider Compensation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Calculate monthly compensation for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers utilizing various compensation models.
• Prepare and document monthly compensation accruals, adjustments, and related journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain comprehensive compensation workpapers and supporting schedules.
• Analyze compensation trends to identify any unusual fluctuations, variances, or calculation anomalies.
• Reconcile compensation accruals, payments, and liabilities with the general ledger.
• Ensure calculations adhere to agreements and compensation policies.
• Collaborate with Payroll and Human Resources for payment processing.
• Prepare monthly compensation reporting packages and conduct variance analyses.
• Investigate and clarify month-over-month and year-over-year changes.
• Analyze provider productivity, collections, profitability, growth incentives, and profit-sharing calculations.
• Develop and maintain compensation dashboards, schedules, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Act as the primary accounting contact for provider compensation inquiries.
• Communicate calculations, variances, and adjustments to providers and operational stakeholders.
• Collaborate with physicians, practice administrators, operations leadership, and finance teams.
• Maintain documentation and perform audit procedures for compensation calculations and accounting entries.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in productivity, revenue, expense allocations, and reporting.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Recommend and implement process enhancements and controls.
• Identify opportunities to automate compensation calculations and reporting.
• Support standardized compensation methodologies and reporting tools.
• Participate in special projects, acquisitions, provider onboarding, and transitions of compensation models.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Over 4 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis.
• Proficiency in preparing complex accruals, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in healthcare accounting.
• Familiarity with physician compensation models.
