This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete accounts payable and accounts receivable processes across various business entities.
• Generate customer invoices, oversee collections, and address any discrepancies.
• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheets.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and allocations.
• Ensure accurate general ledger activity for an expanding portfolio of entities.
• Prepare and submit monthly sales and use tax returns in multiple states.
• Maintain vendor records, including W-9s, contracts, and documentation for 1099 compliance.
• Take significant responsibility for the month-end close process, including reconciliations, accruals, schedules, and general ledger accuracy.
• Create monthly and on-demand financial reporting packages.
• Collaborate directly with the SVP of Finance & Operations to enhance close timing, reporting quality, and financial accuracy.
• Assist in the ongoing optimization of Sage Intacct and related accounting workflows.
• Contribute to the strengthening of a multi-entity accounting framework as the company's portfolio grows.
• Document and enhance accounting standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Aid in the development of robust internal controls, including segregation of duties and approval workflows.
• Keep organized schedules and supporting documentation for external tax and audit partners.
• Work with venue and operations teams regarding payments, vendor compliance, and financial workflows.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of accounting processes.
• Report directly to the SVP of Finance & Operations.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in multi-entity accounting.
• Experience in managing intercompany transactions and allocations.
• Hands-on experience in preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns.
• Proficient in general ledger management and month-end closing processes.
• Direct experience with a multi-entity cloud ERP, such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Acumatica, Dynamics 365 Business Central, or a similar platform.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and high-volume reconciliation tasks.
• Strong comprehension of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Exceptional attention to detail and sound accounting judgment.
• Ability to independently investigate discrepancies and manage issues until resolution.
• Capability to handle recurring deadlines and competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with finance and operational stakeholders.
• Preference for candidates located in Wilmington, NC, although applicants from any U.S. state are welcome.
• Extensive Sage Intacct experience, especially with dimensions and multi-entity functionality.
• Accounting experience in live entertainment, venues, festivals, hospitality, sports, or similar multi-site or event-driven organizations.
• Familiarity with event settlements.
• Experience with venue-level profit and loss statements.
• Experience with revenue recognition on a per-event basis.
• Understanding of seasonal or event-driven cash flow cycles.
• Experience in documenting accounting standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Background in ERP implementation, optimization, or system improvement initiatives.
• Experience assisting external tax preparers or auditors with organized schedules and documentation.
• Proven track record in strengthening internal controls and approval workflows.
• Interest and ability to grow into an Accounting Manager position as the organization expands.
