This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, which include reconciliations, journal entries, and the preparation of financial statements for group entities.
• Assist in the preparation, review, and submission of external financial reports in accordance with the group's reporting requirements.
• Assume full responsibility for accounting processes and related projects.
• Utilize sound judgment to maintain the closing process and ensure timely decision-making under pressure.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and other cross-functional teams to comprehend business initiatives and evaluate their accounting impacts.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and contribute to the development of new controls.
• Identify and execute opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function.
• Investigate and document technical accounting positions on significant or non-routine transactions.
• Identify risk and internal control considerations, raising issues to leadership with clear context and recommendations.
• Analyze intricate processes and financial data to detect root causes and generate actionable insights.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end and quarter-end closings.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience across multiple jurisdictions; multi-entity experience is a significant advantage.
• Advanced skills in Excel, including reconciliations, complex formulas, and data analysis.
• Proficient in utilizing AI tools to enhance accuracy or efficiency in daily accounting tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience collaborating with departments such as Legal, Tax, or Treasury.
• Proven ability to research and document technical accounting positions.
• Sound judgment and the capability to make timely decisions to keep closing deadlines on track.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive stance towards identifying and escalating risks.
• CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is advantageous, but not mandatory.
• Experience in supporting external financial reporting or statutory filings.
• Direct experience with Iplicit or similar multi-entity accounting systems.
• Background in a rapidly growing business environment.
• Familiarity with process automation or systems implementation projects.
