Senior Accountant – Non-Audit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of external clients based in the UK and serve as a primary point of contact on a daily basis.

• Prepare and evaluate statutory accounts for the UK in accordance with FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 standards.

• Generate and assess monthly and quarterly management accounts.

• Prepare and/or review corporation tax computations along with CT600 submissions.

• Prepare and review UK VAT returns while assisting with any queries from HMRC.

• Review bookkeeping tasks, reconciliations, and year-end adjustments.

• Manage multiple client assignments and adhere to statutory deadlines.

• Evaluate work performed by junior team members and offer technical guidance.

• Mentor junior staff through constructive feedback, coaching, and review processes.

• Identify accounting and tax-related issues, providing clear solutions to clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in a UK accountancy practice.

• Demonstrated experience in preparing UK year-end accounts for various external clients.

• Strong understanding of FRS 102 and FRS 105 standards.

• Practical knowledge of UK corporation tax, VAT, and HMRC regulations.

• Experience in preparing management accounts.

• Proven ability to manage a diverse client portfolio and meet competing deadlines.

• Excellent client-facing communication skills.

• Experience in reviewing or providing support to junior accountants.

• Capability to work independently and take ownership of client responsibilities.

• ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or QBE (desirable).

• Previous experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounts Senior, Client Accountant, or Assistant Manager (desirable).

• Familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Dext (desirable).

• Experience with Silverfin, IRIS, Sage, or comparable practice software (desirable).

• Background in working with media, creative, or other owner-managed businesses (desirable).
