Senior Accountant – Grants

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the Senior Accountant providing support to the Health System Finance Director

• Ensure precise general ledger activities related to grants, including associated reporting and reconciliations

• Ensure adherence to grant terms and conditions, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), sponsor regulations, and internal policies

• Oversee assigned grants and related financial responsibilities

• Administer, manage, and allocate organizational resources associated with grant funding

• Collaborate with program leaders and grant stakeholders

• Identify enhancements and address issues related to compliance, reporting, or financial risks

• Suggest and execute process improvements

• Lead designated initiatives from inception to completion

• Prepare and process journal entries concerning grant expenditures, reallocations, and accruals

• Assist with month-end closing, reconciliations, and reporting deadlines

• Develop financial schedules, conduct data analyses, and coordinate report distribution

• Create grant financial reports, invoices, and drawdowns

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of assigned grants, encompassing award and budget setup, financial monitoring, reporting, and closeout

• Reconcile grant records with the general ledger and support audits and monitoring engagements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university

• A minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience

• Proficient in financial reporting and general ledger management

• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls

• Strong analytical abilities to review financial data and detect discrepancies

• Capability to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
