Senior Accountant – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee client engagements and enhance financial processes.

• Direct the month-end and year-end closing activities, which include journal entries, accruals, and financial reconciliations.

• Prepare and evaluate financial statements, management reports, and financial forecasts.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP while maintaining audit-ready financial records.

• Utilize FloQast for managing closures, tracking reconciliations, and automating workflows.

• Act as a trusted financial advisor for clients.

• Lead the onboarding of clients and the implementation of Sage Intacct.

• Provide fractional Controller-level support and strategic financial insights.

• Assist in the implementation and migration of accounting systems.

• Analyze and enhance clients’ utilization of Sage Intacct.

• Train clients on efficient usage of Sage Intacct.

• Conduct quarterly financial reviews with clients.

• Maintain the minimum billable hours set by leadership.

• Suggest improvements for clients’ HR and payroll efficiencies.

• Collaborate with sales and account management teams.

• Identify opportunities for service expansion and areas of client value.

• Leverage Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online for reporting, automation, and process optimization.

• Support projects involving financial technology integration.

• Assist with payroll processing and compliance tasks.

• Drive initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Guide and mentor Staff Accountants.

• Review the work of Staff Accountants for accuracy and adherence to best practices.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, and cloud-based financial tools.

• Participate in global accounting meetings.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and finance teams.

• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, tax filings, and compliance documentation.

• Generate financial data, reports, and insights for leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience as a Senior Accountant, Senior Staff Accountant, or Sr. Controller, ideally in outsourced accounting, advisory services, or a CPA firm.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; 12+ years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

• CPA or CPA eligibility is preferred.

• Required proficiency in Sage Intacct, including core financial modules, financial report creation, multi-entity environments, and advanced workflows.

• Required experience with FloQast for close management, reconciliation tracking, and workflow automation.

• Strong technical skills in multi-entity, multi-currency accounting functions.

• Experience with payroll, sales tax filings, and financial audits.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Background in SaaS, outsourced accounting, or financial consulting is preferred.

• Familiarity with ERP implementations and financial technology integrations is preferred.

• Experience in client-facing financial advisory roles is preferred.

• Ability to maintain a flexible and regular full-time schedule.

• Capability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

• Effective communication skills with a diverse audience in person, by phone, and via computer.
