Senior Accountant – CapEx

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Review and manage a significant volume of CapEx and Construction-in-Progress (CIP) invoices.

• Assess capitalization versus operating expense treatment utilizing accounting judgment.

• Maintain comprehensive fixed asset records, encompassing additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses pertinent to CapEx activities.

• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and financial analyses.

• Oversee accounting operations in NetSuite across various subsidiaries.

• Utilize advanced Excel functionalities to analyze extensive datasets and formulate reporting schedules.

• Collaborate with operational and finance teams on project accounting and job costing.

• Support audits and ensure adherence to public company controls and reporting standards.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance accounting processes and efficiencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.

• Strong expertise in CapEx accounting and managing fixed assets.

• Proven experience in reviewing high volumes of CapEx and CIP invoices.

• Practical experience with NetSuite.

• Familiarity with month-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.

• Advanced skills in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis).

• Experience in a large public company environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.

• Capability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

• CPA designation is preferred.

• Experience in public accounting is preferred.

• Preferred experience in job costing or project accounting.

• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or capital-intensive projects is advantageous.

• Familiarity with the data center industry is a plus but not mandatory.
