
Senior Accountant – Billing and Collections

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Delegate tasks, establish priorities, and manage the distribution of workload.
• Verify the accuracy of invoices, payment postings, notices, and reconciliations.
• Educate, onboard, and mentor team members.
• Maintain documentation of processes and standard operating procedures.
• Elevate unresolved issues, resource requirements, and process risks to management.
• Supervise the monthly billing cycle, encompassing invoice processing, adjustments, credits, and new account setups.
• Review and authorize invoices, contracts, and amendments ensuring correct billing terms, rates, and schedules.
• Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of monthly invoices and Customer Invoice Attachments.
• Investigate and rectify billing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to confirm billable services and invoice accuracy.
• Oversee payment entries, including failed payments, overpayments, and refunds.
• Review and sanction past-due and suspension notices.
• Monitor accounts flagged for suspension and escalate at-risk accounts.
• Manage the accounting inbox and act as an escalation point for complex billing and collection disputes.
• Prepare monthly commissions and client reports for group-of-company accounts.
• Calculate sales and deferred revenue for revenue recognition.
• Identify uncollectible accounts and propose write-offs or allowance adjustments.
• Analyze AR aging reports and communicate collection risks and trends to management.
• Support month-end closing by reconciling the AR subledger with the general ledger and ensuring accurate cutoff.
• Enhance billing and collections processes and controls.
• Perform additional billing, collections, reporting, and supervisory tasks as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Collections.
• Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Practical understanding of revenue recognition and deferred revenue concepts.
• Excellent verbal, written, and English communication abilities.
• Willingness to work overnight/graveyard shifts in Philippine time or during US operating hours.
• Proficient in most Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook.
• Strong expertise in Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
• Hands-on experience with Workday Financials, especially regarding customer invoices, contracts, and billing schedules.
• Familiarity with Workday, HubSpot, Shopify, and Stripe is advantageous but not mandatory.
• CPA or CMA certification is beneficial but not required.
