Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +22 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

• Accurately prepare journal entries.

• Reconcile ledger and sub-ledger accounts following each monthly close.

• Manage the reconciliation of the deferred revenue waterfall.

• Assist in the revenue recognition review in compliance with ASC 606.

• Work in collaboration with RevOps to ensure that customer invoices align with contracts.

• Aid in the preparation of financial statements according to US GAAP.

• Conduct financial statement analytics and investigate any variances.

• Support initiatives aimed at audit readiness.

• Help facilitate the fiscal year-end financial statement audit.

• Coordinate with external tax accountants regarding the PBC list.

• Evaluate and implement effective internal controls and best practices.

• Maintain the accounting playbook.

• Contribute to the assessment, design, and implementation of ERP and systems.

• Assist in the upkeep of the Ramp spend management platform.

• Collaborate closely with the Controller to develop scalable finance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA designation is mandatory.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.

• 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting.

• Understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting principles, including ASC 606, ASC 842, stock-based compensation, and SaaS revenue recognition.

• Experience in financial reporting and SaaS metrics.

• Proven experience utilizing AI to enhance workflows and optimize processes.

• Background and reference checks will be conducted as part of the onboarding process.

• Candidates must reside in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IA, KS, MA, MI, NE, NJ, NV, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WA, or WI.

• Experience in public accounting.

• Previous involvement with a VC-backed tech startup.

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Campfire, Rillet, or NetSuite.

• Hands-on experience with systems implementation is required.
