Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute a diverse array of financial tasks that support WVU Medicine and the budgeting process.

• Conduct departmental analyses and reconciliations.

• Manage billing and accounts receivable assessments.

• Uphold related contracts for departmental services.

• Perform productivity evaluations.

• Build collaborative relationships with department managers to coordinate and oversee financial controls for cost centers.

• Organize accounting and financial procedures, ensuring adherence to internal controls.

• Maintain the general ledger and provide precise month-end financial reports.

• Lead the analysis of month-end variances.

• Supervise and review month-end reconciliations of the general ledger.

• Direct, develop, delegate, and coordinate the activities of the Accounting Department staff.

• Generate and present analytical financial information for departmental leadership.

• Prepare financial documentation necessary for budgets and external audits.

• Assist in the reviews of budgets and external audits.

• Train new staff and monitor their progress.

• Fulfill specialized financial responsibilities, including monthly and consolidated financial statements, bonds, and cash-flow forecasts.

• Support initiatives aimed at performance improvement and quality assurance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• A minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience.

• Capability to sit for prolonged periods.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in working with computer databases and spreadsheet applications.

• Strong proficiency in Excel.

• Work setting in the United States as designated by the employer.
