Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of designated general ledger accounts, ensuring precision, consistency, and adherence to GAAP standards.

• Guarantee timely vendor payments and gather necessary documentation for control purposes.

• Reconcile monthly cash transactions, including member and vendor payments, transfers, and sweeps.

• Execute month-end and quarter-end closing procedures, which include preparing journal entries and supporting documentation.

• Reconcile and manage assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.

• Create, upload, and adjust accounting entries within the accounting system.

• Maintain workpapers in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies and procedures.

• Document internal controls and complete tasks outlined in the close checklist.

• Foster productive relationships within the accounting department and across other teams.

• Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from accounting, finance, and operations teams.

• Assist with member contracts, ensuring billing contract accuracy and addressing member account inquiries.

• Support various ad hoc projects as needed.

• Report directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional experience.

• 3-5 years of preferred accounting experience.

• Proficient in data extraction and analysis from an ERP system; familiarity with Salesforce and Oracle is preferred but not mandatory.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the use of pivot tables.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

• Effective time management capabilities.

• Ability to multitask within a dynamic environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

• Capability to follow directions and complete tasks promptly.

• Experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus.

• Familiarity with Salesforce is an advantage.

• Active CPA license or progress towards CPA is beneficial.

• Knowledge of US GAAP standards and SOX compliance is a plus.
